Well Done, and thanks to all for attending the 2010 Inter-Club Race,  especially the Marshalls for giving up their time to ensure a safe race for all. Post race food was well deserved after battling through those undulating final 2miles.

The race will start a short distance (~150m) from the entrance to the Great Western Pub and and follow a steady climb for the first half a mile towards Harbury. A left turn sees the end of the climb and a flat section bringing us to the 1st mile marker.

A minor undulation is the only feature to prevent a perfectly flat second mile as runners leave Bush Heath Lane and head towards Bishops Itchington. The second mile marker being at the bottom of a brief dip giving a gentle climb to the start of mile 3. Once the initial ascent is out of the way, the third mile is a fast one, with a long descent into Bishops Itchington where valuable time can be made up. A left hand turn here and runners will need to watch for traffic and cross to the right hand side of the road when safe to do so. If in any doubt there are two zebra crossings which can be used to cross safely. Runners will be directed by a marshall to take a right hand turn heading in towards the village and past the 3 mile marker.

The 3 mile marker, located outside the village chip shop sees the start of some hard as fast descending following the Ladbroke Road out of the village. A section along the flat takes runners under the railway bridge and gives a moment to collect themselves before a sharp challenging climb just before the fourth mile marker.

Still climbing slightly as runners enter their fifth mile, the summit is followed by a welcoming half mile descent before runners tackle the undulating final 0.75mile which is predominantly uphill to the finish. Runners are asked to cross to the right hand side of the road allowing them to face the traffic and use the footpath where appropriate. As weary legs carry competitors past the 5 mile marker, the final 400m includes a final climb taking runners up to the railway bridge at which point only 100m remains on a slightly downard slope to put in a strong finishing burst.

...Best of Luck to All Runners!
