With the first signs of winter (see photo) all around 15 members of Kenilworth Runners travelled south to Chesterton for the third race in this attractive
series of road races. It would be very difficult to find a more attractive place to start and finish a tough 5 mile road race with the magnificent spectacle of the Church
as a background and with the bitterly cold conditions bringing a grey mist all around it made a scene Turner would have delighted in.
The course took the runners out along a steadily climbing by road that eventually meets the Bishops Itchington to Warwick road at the 5 ways.
A undulating run along this road to Windmill Hill and a left turn down the steep hill to Chesterton but they were unable to see the imposing spectacle of the Windmill
as it was shrouded in mist. After left turn at the bottom of the hill another undulating lane took them back to the finish at Chesterton Church.
Its is all change again in the overall position with Laurence Copeland taking over by playing his joker and at the same time having an excellent run to beat his handicap
by an impressive 13 seconds on a hilly course.

Heartshill Heartbraker Cross Country
On a very sunny but frosty day which made for fast running over the frozen mud eight members of Kenilworth Runners travelled to Nuneaton
to take part in this tough 10 mile cross country race. Kenilworth ladies team did exceptionally well to win the team event with the first three counting.
The Hartshill course is a superb combination of muddy paths and woodland with several very tough climbs.

St Neots Half Marathon
Kenilworth Runners member Nick Bradbury travelled to Cambridgeshire to take part in the St.Neots half marathon. On a cold wintery day conditions were very icy underfoot, with wind chill factor well below freezing yet also glorious winter sun shone throughout. The course was nearly completely flat, figure 8 formation with the final 3 miles slightly down hill, so excellent opportunity for PB.
Despite the conditions Nick ran very well to finish in 116th position out of 890 finishers in 91 minutes and 56 second.
