It seems just a few weeks since Kenilworth Runners Summer Road Race Series ended but on a damp Sunday morning in Barford 16 members
and 2 guests lined up to take part in the first race of the Winter Race Series. Based on the same long standing scoring principles club members
will compete in 8 races with 5 to score.
The 4 mile course chosen started at the junction of the A429 and Wasperton Lane. Runners then proceed along Wasperton Lane until
reaching a footpath on the left which, to the surprise of some, leads along a muddy footpath, before emerging into Hareway Lane and with a
left turn to return to Barford and the finish.
With three runners playing their jokers (doubles the points) it was Sue Divine, who with a superb run took the overall lead with the maximum total of 100 points. However
winner of the summer series, James Hartwright, was in sparkling form and looks as though he intends to add the Winter title to it. Group positions are as follows:-
GROUP RUNNER POINTS

A cool damp day gave perfect weather conditions, however the muddy terrain and undulating course added to the difficulty of the course.
Mick Williams led home the Kenilworth male contingent with an excellent run with the team winning second place. However the ladies led home by
Rebecca Kendall went one better by winning the ladies team prize.
