03/09/04 - Godiva Autumn 5 mile race

On a mild Autunm evening twelve members of Kenilworth Runners travelled the short distance to Coventry Memorial Park where they took part in the 5 mile Autunm race which comprised three laps around the pleasant tracks in the Park.

Martin Dorrill lead Kenilworth Runners men with a superb run to finish in 27 minutes and 42 seconds and Kenilworth Lady runner Isobel Partridge finished 7th lady in 32 minutes and 56 seconds. The other members finished in the following positions and times:-

05/09/04 - Wolverhampton full & 1/2 Marathon

On Sunday 5th September Kenilworth Runners were in force at the Wolverhampton full and half marathon. They had to complete an undulating course to the north of the city in soaring temperatures. Results:

11/09/04 - The Yorkshire Off Road Marathon

Kenilworth Runner's lady fell runner Celia Mills took part in this gruelling 26.2 mile race in Yorkshire. She completed the race in 4 hours and 40 minutes to take the prestigious 3rd ladies position.

 

12/09/04 - Robin Hood 1/2 Marathon, Nottingham

On a bright and windy day with 10,000 competitors a number of runners missed the turn off for the half marathon and found themselves on route for a second lap of the course for the marathon distance. Among those were Wayne Oakes of Kenilworth and two of the leading Kenyan ladies who realised their mistake at 15 miles and turned back on the course.

13/09/04 - Chevin Hill Fell Race

Town of Belper this short sharp race up a steep hill taxes even the fittest runner but Colin Bricher tackled it and had an excellent run finishing in 30 minutes and 50 seconds. There were 45 finishers overall.

18/09/04 - Woodstock 12 miles 198 yrds

At Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire the morning rain gave ideal conditions for this race, 3 undulating laps around the grounds of Blenheim Palace, ancestral home of Winston Churchill.

19/09/04 - Nuneaton 10 miles

Eleven members of Kenilworth Runners took part in today's Nuneaton 10 mile road race. This was the sixth race of the Warwickshire Road Race League, the penultimate one being our own Kenilworth Half Marathon on October 10th with the series finishing at the Rugby 10 the following week (17th October).

In warm but blustery conditions, the eight men and three ladies finished an undulating two lap course that took them from the start at Wolvey, out through Bulkington in the following times:

25/09/04 - The Midlands Road Race Relays

On Saturday Kenilworth Runners fielded three teams of runners, two ladies teams and one men's team, who took part in the relay races at Sutton Park. The ladies event comprised of teams of 4 runners with each runner completing a 2.6 mile course around Sutton Park. The men's event involved teams of 6 with each runner completing a 3.73 mile course. The course chosen is fairly hilly but the day was cool and ideal for running.

The ladies teams were the stars on the day with the 'A' team finishing in 19 position and the 'B' team in 50th out of a field of 63 teams. Thanks to Sam Curry for running twice!! The men also did brilliantly finishing in 55th out of 87 teams. The individual times were as follows and in the order they ran:-
