Julian produced a storming run in todays race to finish in a time of 1:28:40 for 13th place out of a
field of 400. But not to be outdone, it was Mick Morris who had the last laugh. Although finishing some 45 minutes later in 2:15, he
actually won the V70 1st prize.
Richard Steel in his first Bowline, came in 54th in a time of 1:39:08. With conditions underfoot
very wet and muddy after the overnight rain, this was a great effort. Julian Tombs was the next back in 67th place for a time of 1:40 -
some 11 minutes quicker than last year. Stan Alexander came in next (1:46 for 102nd place) - although not repeating last weeks start at
the Midlands, when he turned up with just seconds to spare before the start. he just edged out Roland Smythe (1:47 for 115th) to complete the
team placings. Unfortunately, this year we could not repeat second place, and as of yet we are not sure where we finished.
Celia
Mills was our first back for 165th place, whilst Jane McNally, also debuting at thedistance, completed the course in 2:16 for 299th place.
Bob
Griffiths was our last one back with a time of 2:17 and 304th place.

Wokingham 1/2 Marathon
Kenilworth runners Pauline, Kirtsy and Matthew all braved the cold to run in the Wokingham 1/2 marathon.
The temperature at the start of the race was just 3 degrees, together with a windchill from a strong and bitter cold
wind, gave difficult conditions on a fairly flat country, traffic free course. Colin Deasey,
Coventry Godiva, was 2nd in 1 hour and 11minutes.
