06/02/00 - Bowline Cross Country

Four Kenilworth Runners tackled the 14th annual Charnwood race, regarded as one of the toughest cross country events on the Midlands schedule.

Known as the Bowline, the race starts from and finishes at Anstey village and takes in fields, parkland and several stiff climbs including an additional one this year.

Mick Williams led the Runners home clocking an impressive 92:68. Stan Alexander recorded 115:12; John Jones 130:00 and Mick Morris 133:30. The field exceeded 275 participants.

06/02/00 - Watford Half Marathon

Three more runners contested the Watford Half Marathon. In a field of 1,700 and over a very undulating course, Roland Smythe recorded 1:26; Gwyn Davies 1:36 and Martin Carter 1:38. All three are preparing for the London or Boston Marathons in April
