Pauline Dable took part in the Hook Norton Christmas Canter. A cross country run in the Cotswolds, it starts from Hook Norton (infamous for it's beer) and heads to Great Rollright (Rollright Stones) and before headng back. She joined 150 other runners on a beautiful winter's morning and they were faced with a biting head wind on the way out but took advantage of the resulting tail wind on their return. Crossing fields was made doubly difficult as the morning frost melted to give sticky underfoot conditions. Competitors were treated to a mince pie and warm mulled wine on finishing. Pauline finished in sixty nine minutes and five seconds and for finishing second in the VF55 category she was rewarded with a Christmas pudding. |
