Benidorm Half Marathon

The start time for the half marathon was changed to 6pm on Saturday evening. With dusk falling and temepratures around 9 degrees the 3000 runners started the race in torrential rain and a cold wind.The course consisted of three laps of the promenade on Levante Beach and two laps of the road along Poniente Beach passing through the old town of Benidorm four times. The route was awash with water and flooded for most of the way. Perhaps some of the worst conditions we have ever faced in a race, but the support from the Spanish crowds was spectacular considering the dreadful conditions.We were both pleased with our times taking all into account.
