Midland Ladies Cross Country, Race 1, Newbold Comyn

The first race of a four race series was run in unseasonably sunny and warm conditions for late October. A record number of ladies toed the line in this hotly contested race over two laps of Newbold Comyn, Leamington Spa taking in the steep climb from the River Leam to the top of Beacon Hill on both laps.

Seven Kenilworth ladies took part and were led home by Julie Maundrell, in her first race in two and a half years, who finished a fine 83rd. She followed by Sally Hicks,Tina Butler, (The first three finishers count) Mandy Crust, Kally Cheema, Joan Mason and Pauline Dable.
