Benidorm - Half Marathon Print E-mail

Mick Williams and Pauline Dable flew out to sunny Benidorm for the annual half marathon. Following four weeks of beautiful sunshine the weather changed on race day to present perfect racing weather for Brits - with dark clouds and a light breeze and temperatures peaking at a pleasant 15C. 2,500 runners took part in the race, which departed from the council house in the old town with a short firework display and enthusiastic support from a large crowd. The two lap course took in the full length of both the Levante and Poniente beaches, crossing up through the old town on the headland between each beach no less than 4 times

Mick ran a fine race to finish in 1:25:38; Pauline Dable broke two hours with 1:59:16, which earned her third prize in the V60 category.
