Kenilworth Runners put in a spirited performance at the second round of the Men's Birmingham League Cross Country Division 1 held at Abington Park, Northampton, but find themselves still rooted at the bottom of the highly competitive table.

Held on a sunny, but cold December afternoon, the 10km race took place over 4 laps of a constantly undulating course. Mike Johnson was first Kenilworth Runner home in a fine 51st position, with Phil Gould, Stuart Hopkins, Graham Birch, Martin Dorrill, and Pete Bryan making up the A team. The score of 588 points was equal 14th out of the 16 teams, the overall total of 1382 points gives the club a fighting chance of avoiding relegation with two rounds remaining in the new year.
