A good turn out of 21 members for this the first race in the 8 race series of the Winter League, not an ideal day for running with overcast skies and a bitter wind did not encourage members to strip down to shorts and vest.

The 4.5 mile course chosen for the evening started and finished outside the White Horse and headed towards Kenilworth before turning left at the traffic lights to continue along Waste Lane and past Catchem’s Corner to turn left into Hodgett’s Lane to Carol Green where a sharp left turn took the runners into Truggits Lane passing the Station and continuing towards Balsall Common to turn left into Meeting House Lane and so to Waste Lane, the traffic lights and to the finish.

Unusually for the first race 3 members played their Joker which doubles the points they earn, this paid off for Tom Dable who had an excellent run to finish in the overall lead when the 50 points he earned doubled up to 100 a good start for the series.

Sally Hicks and Mick Morris the other 2 joker players finished 1st and 2nd respectively at the top of the "A" Group.
