Starting outside the Theatre the course took the runners twice around the town centre before heading off to Luddington before reaching the long steady hill at Welford upon Avon. After this long climb and a sharp but short downhill a left turn took the runners into Milcote road where the Green Way is reached. Passing along this traffic free foot-path the course took the runners a short way up the A4390 and then into the Park and to the finish of what is a difficult route.

Kenilworth Runners representative in the Marathon, Aidan Keher, had an excellent run to finish in 4 hours 15 minutes and 20 seconds in 560th position out of 857 finishers. In the Half Marathon it was Robert Thompson who shone with a splendid run to finish in 14th overall position out of 1,712 finishers. Robert set an impressive time of 83 minutes and 9 seconds. He was followed by Sean Mitchell, senior men, (50th, 88.58), Anton Raath, men over 50, (542nd, 111.41), Julie Bevan, lady over 45, (859th, 119.40) and Joan Mason, lady over 55, (1061st, 126.09).
