Banbury Five Mile Race Print E-mail

The fifth round of the East Midlands Grand Prix series saw runners head on Tuesday 12 June to Banbury for the Banbury Five Mile Road Race. The race is held over a scenic one lap course based at Banbury School. Conditions were good for racing with cool temperatures and no discernible breeze.

A battle for top honours has formed in recent races between Kenilworth Runners’ Chris McCarthy and Andrew Siggers. At Banbury it was Chris who came home ahead of Andrew, clocking 27:00 to come home an excellent third ahead of fourth placed Andrew who was just seventeen seconds slower.

Tom and Pauline Dable also took part in the race. Tom finished 228th in 39:45; Pauline 273rd in 43:53. There were 313 finishers.
