Bramley 20/10 Road Race, Bramley Print E-mail

It was cold (But not as cold as it would have been had it been held one day earlier) for the Reading Roadrunners hosted Bramley 20 Mile and 10 Mile Road Race. The event, held on rural undulating roads, is a popular event for those seeking a fast ten miler, or for those taking on two laps of the course, an early opportunity to take part in a twenty mile race ahead of a Spring marathon.

In the ten mile race Clive Pearce had an exceptional run to finish eighteenth with a new Personal Best of 1:03:04. The race was won in a swift 48:59 by Chris Powner of Winchester and District AC.

The twenty mile race saw five members of Kenilworth Runners competing. Rod Goodwin paced Claire Goult (2:47:48 chip time) for much of the run before easing away in the closing stages to take on Stephen Chalkley (2:48:03 chip time) Steve Wright (2:48:03 chip time), clocking his own chip time of 246:01. Iain Critchlow finished just behind in 2:49:41.
