Provisional Results from Race 3 - Crackley Cracker

League Standings After Race 3

23 runners and 4 marshalls turned out for this race on Easter Sunday morning, around the 2 lap course totalling 5.25mi, as used for the resolution relay. The morning was cool and pleasant, with a slight breeze, leaving nothing but the few steady elevation changes to prevent runners from achieving their predicted times.

Despite the near perfect conditions, the high standard of competition in previous years was sufficient to ensure no course records were broken. Joan Mason continues to build on her recent performance improvements taking top honours for the day by improving on her predicted time by nearly 3 minutes and thus taking the top score of 50 points.  Richard Green put in a valliant effort to make it as the only 'C' grouper on the podium, by taking 49 points and over a minute ahead of his predicted time. Laurance Copeland takes 3rd spot for the day, consolodating his spot at the top of the A-group, for the time being at least.

Overall Series Leader:
Tom Dable - 180 points (Joker)

A Group Standings:
1st - Laurence Copeland - 166 points (Joker)
2nd - Pauline Dable - 127 points
3rd - Joan Mason - 97 points

B Group Standings:
1st - Sigurd Assing - 143 points
2nd - Clive Pearce - 140 points
3rd - Colin Underhill - 135 points

C Group Standings:
1st - Richard Green - 128 points
2nd - Pete Bryan - 124 points
3rd - Rich Simkiss - 119 points

Richard Whiting was kind enough to take on the duties of timekeeper, organising marshalls for the day and ensuring results were accurately taken, as well as providing runners with an Easter treat at the finish. Many thanks to Richard, and to the other marshalls Clive Pearce, Nick Benbow, and Rod Goodwin, who made themselves available to ensure runners' safety and enjoyment for the mornings race.
