Full Results from Race 2 - Temple Trot

The second race of the league attracted a total of 34 on a pleasant sunny evening. A barely noticeable descent over the first two miles was repaid with an elevation gain over the final three miles, making for a quick start and a draining final mile. This race also saw the birth of the new 'runner time prediction' system, based on the Riegel calculator, which hopefully gives more accurate (and fair) predictions of target times for runners. Despite the warm weather Rich Simkiss managed to improve on the course record of 28.34 (set in 2008) by finishing in a time of 26.42.

 An Apology must be made with regards to the scoring. An error on the entry list moved Arthur Smith from Group A into group B (rather than the name above on the list - Anton Raath). This had the effect of improving Arthurs time by 5 minutes, and worsening Anton's finish time by 5 minutes. With the results now corrected, congratulations must go to Mick Williams who was the top scoring runner of the evening (excluding 'jokers' of course), a prize will be awarded at the next club race. Mick finished 39 seconds ahead of his predicted time, an improvement of over 2%, which narrowly edged Mick ahead of Martin Broomfield, who had a fantastic run to finish 42 seconds ahead of his predicted time (an improvement of 1.7%). The ever improving Pete Matthews seized the opportunity to play his 'joker' and double his score of 48 points to 96 for the evening, and giving him the overall series lead after Race 2 with a total of 141 points.

Ros Matthews leads the B group with 84 points
Roger Homes leads the C group with 100 points (having played his 'joker' this race).
