total of 289 runners completed today's inaugural Kenilworth Runners Half Marathon, in what can only be described as exceptionally good weather given the forecast; with glorious sunshine - which by mid afternoon had deteriorated to strong winds and torrential rain. The event was very well organised - with special thanks to Roger Wilkes for taking the lion's share of responsibility for organising the event and co-ordinating marshalls, refreshments, commentary, time-keepers, water stations and officials.

We would like to make special thanks to the Kenilworth Scouts and Girl Guides for 'manning' the water stations - even though the eventual winner Alan Jackson went without a drink all the way round, and a big thanks to Coventry Building Society, who very kindly sponsored the event and provided manpower for the big day. Also a special thank you to Castle Farm Recreation Centre and St. John Ambulance for making the event possible.

Many thanks also to the other contributors to the day, especially the Seetar Restaurant - who provided an excellent post-race buffet . And to the other sponsors who provided prizes and spot prizes - your contributions were greatly received - thank you!
