Daytime Running Group starting in Kenilworth Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

A new daytime running group is to start in Kenilworth in the New Year, to help support those resolving to become more active in 2012.  The group, which will meet outside The Almanack, will be led by experienced runners Joan Mason and Arthur Smith who have both recently become qualified group leaders.  The first session is on Wednesday 4 January from 9.30-10.30am, with runners encouraged to stay for a coffee afterwards !

Joan says "We want to offer a supportive, group environment for those who find it more convenient to run during the daytime.  The group will be suitable for all standards of runners, as well as those looking to take up the sport for the very first time."  Joan is available on 07957 872473 for more information or you can speak to Arthur on 07972 761621.

Sessions will be just £2 a session, with no joining fee and the plan will be to get runners initially up to a 5K distance, then potentially up to 10K.  There is no commitment to attend every session, just turn up & run when you can.  This will act as a stepping stone for anyone entering the Two Castles who will need a bit of help with their training, or those who just want to run for pleasure or to improve their fitness.    Those who are more experienced will also be welcome to come along.

The group will be registered under the Run England scheme as soon as possible.

In the spring, Kenilworth Runners will be offering a '10 weeks to 10K' course to provide additional support to aspiring Two Castles runners.
