About Us

We are a very inclusive club, welcoming all standards of runners and catering for their needs whether they are a ten-minute miler or sub-six. Ages range from 12-80 joined by a common enjoyment of running.
The club boasts running coaches who deliver sessions designed to improve performance across all ability levels. The club supports them to keep their knowledge & skills up to date which is then fed back in to their sessions, benefitting the members attending.
We meet at Edmonscote track in Leamington at 7pm on Wednesdays, Kenilworth Wardens at 7pm every Tuesday & Thursday, with additional long runs on Sunday mornings at 8am from Wardens or 10am from Hatton Locks, Warwick and whilst some members attend almost every session, many are seen much more rarely. Attendance is entirely down to the individual.
Each year we organise our own Club League handicap races where members compete against their own predicted times, based on past performance. We also organise the popular Kenilworth Half Marathon each Autumn and in May, a festival of races in Abbey Fields - Mayday 10K, Mayday10k relay, Schools Challenge and a fun run.
Both our Mens & Ladies Teams compete in the Birmingham Cross Country League (Ladies Midlands League) and Gloucestershire XC League and we also enter teams in the Hilly 100 race in the Cotswolds and compete in an annual inter-club race against other local running clubs. Individuals and groups of runners enter many local and some not so local races from parkruns to Marathons and also trail running events up to Ultra distance.

Kenilworth Runners are affiliated to England Athletics (EA) and our members are affiliated athletes.

We adopt and aim to work towards all policies and procedures as produced by EA to include those covering Safeguarding & Protecting, Welfare, Anti-Bullying, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Additionally we accept EA's Codes of Practice covering Athletes, Coaches, Volunteers and Officials within the Club.

See England Athletics web site for details - www.englandathletics.org

The running of the Club is managed by a Committee of  unpaid Officials  elected at the AGM.  We have several qualified coaches and qualified Endurance Officials who are volunteers having attended various coaching and officiating courses and being subject to  Disclosure & Barring Service or Criminal Records Bureau checks. The Club presently has two Welfare Officers - James Glover and Danielle Mohacsi, both contactable through the Club Information / Club Committee section of our website.

In the Summer of 2014 we intruduced a Youth Section to the club and we are working towards Club Mark accreditation.
