1) MEMBERSHIP: By acceptance into Kenilworth Runners Club and payment of subscriptions, you are also reminded that the total subscriptions paid includes your social membership to Kenilworth Wardens, allowing you the use of facilities such as showers, changing rooms, Club room and bar. All members understand that they participate in the activities of the Club entirely at their own risk and that the Club will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained or loss or damage to any property. An indemnity waiver form will be available at all Club-run events for signature by all participating non-members.

 

(2) CLUB COLOURS & KIT: Club Colours are Green/White/Black singlet and an option of Black/Green/White or black shorts.

 

(3) TROPHIES: Any Trophies held by Club Members shall remain the property of the Club, unless specifically donated for another purpose.

 

(4) COMPETITION RULES: To be entered into the draw for Club London Marathon places, a member must be able to produce their own rejection form for the coming London Marathon and have been a fully paid-up member of Kenilworth Runners for a minimum of 12 months. Members will be excluded if successful in the previous year’s draw.

If there are insufficient entrants to the initial draw, a further draw will be held, open to those who have been a member of the club for more than 12 months, regardless of any rejection status. This second draw is not open to those who gained a place through the previous year’s club ballot.

If any places remain following the second draw, a further draw will take place which will be open to all members, regardless of length of membership or previous allocation of club place.

Draws will be held by the 1st January.

Members receiving a club entry place will be responsible for paying their entry fee to the race

 

(5) LIFE MEMBERS: the Committee on behalf of the Club will bestow Life Membership. Direct Club Membership fees will be paid from Club funds, but membership fees for Kenilworth Wardens will remain the responsibility of the Life Member.

 

(6) JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP: The existence of Junior Members will trigger the requirement for a Junior Member Representative Officer. This Officer will be responsible for representing the views of Junior Members to the Club Committee and for all matters relating specifically to Junior Members

 

(7) AGM QUORUM: In the event of there being less than a Quorum at the AGM, the business will be conducted as normal unless the members present elect to require the committee to call an EGM to confirm decisions taken or to consider dissolving the Club.

 

(8) PHOTOGRAPHY: The Press Officer may take photographs or ask others to take photographs at events where a member or members of Kenilworth Runners take part. These will be used to publicise Kenilworth Runners in local and national newspapers and on the Club web site www.kenilworthrunners.co.uk. Any member who does not want his or her photographer taken for this purpose will advise the Press Officer in writing. If no such letter is received then the Press Officer will use the photograph at his discretion. Photography of any Junior is strictly forbidden.

 

(9) HALF MARATHON CLUB MEMBERS ENTRY: Any club entries should be by invitation by/or approval of the Men’s Team Captain.  Such places to be provided to those who have supported the club consistently or who have an opportunity of placing well in the WRRL series or the County Championship.  These runners will be asked to provide a competent adult to take their place helping out at the race and to offer any assistance reasonably possible on race day.  Whilst the Men’s Captain will be the contact point on this issue, the same process applies to both male & female club members’

o The Club respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status. The Club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment, free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse. All Club Members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.

o The Club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to Club disciplinary procedures.

 

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

o "Kenilworth Runners" has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in Kenilworth Runners from harm. An children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be taken into account. Kenilworth Runners will ensure the safety and protection of all children involved in Kenilworth Runners through adherence to the Child Protection guidelines adopted by Kenilworth Runners.

o A child is defined as a person under the age of 18 (The Children Act 1989).

o Our guidelines for the Child Protection Policy are taken from The Child Protection in Sport Unit, (CPSU), which is a partnership between the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Sport England.

o A copy of the guidelines and advice from the CPSU can be found in the Club Information Folder held in the Club Room and further details can be found on www.sportprotects.org.uk
